NJ Transit’s police department has equipped its 263 officers with body cameras to use when they are on patrol.
“Body-worn cameras provide a means for additional transparency when police officers have interactions with the public,” said NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith.
The camera deployment, which cost NJ Transit $2 million, complies with a 2015 directive from the state attorney general’s office. Link to full story in NJ.com.
