The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CA) may launch a micro-transit service, according to a radio interview with CEO Phil Washington.
“We are looking at creating our own Uber-like service using our vehicles, smaller vehicles,” Washington said on AirTalk. “We’re calling this micro-transit.” He added, “This is something that is needed to address the first- and last-mile issue.”
The curb-to-curb service would use Metro’s drivers but partner with a private company for reservations support.
Metro has not finalized pricing details, but the agency hopes to launch the service soon. Link to full story in KPCC.
