Seattle-area agencies launch mobile ticket app

King County Metro Transit (WA) is launching the Transit GO Ticket mobile application, which is good for transit services across the Puget Sound region.

Riders can purchase transit tickets on a mobile device for use on King County Metro buses, King County Water Taxi, Seattle Streetcar, and Sound Transit’s Link light rail and Sounder trains.

The county will collect customer feedback on the app through November 2017.  “We are customer driven, and feedback will help make this new tool even more effective at serving the needs of riders,” said Metro general manager Rob Gannon in a statement.

Bytemark developed the Transit GO Ticket app. The pilot project is budgeted at approximately $470,000; 86% of the project was funded through a Federal Transit Administration grant.
