Metrolink (CA) has launched the first version of its mobile ticketing application, which will allow riders to purchase tickets on a smart phone, tablet, or other mobile device.
Metrolink is initially testing the app on the Inland Empire – Orange County line during the month of March. “By taking a phased approach in the implementation of our new app, Metrolink intends to make regular improvements and upgrades based on feedback from our users,” said Metrolink CEO Art Leahy in a statement.
Starting in April, mobile ticketing will be expanded to the entire Metrolink system and include free transfers to participating bus operators including the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The Metrolink Mobile App uses the Masabi JustRide mobile ticketing system.
