Student develops app for Transit Windsor

A University of Windsor student has developed an iPhone application for Transit Windsor (ON) and hopes to get agency support.  The current version of the app is pretty basic — users pinpoint their location on a map and the app displays the nearest bus routes –  but developer Sehaj Chawla hopes to add more features in the future. “I did a lot of work in summer and fall,” he told The Windsor Star. “It is already ready to go, part of it, where people can say where they are going and the route will be selected. They can look at different routes and know where they are in respect to the routes. You can’t do that on a PDF or the pamphlets that Transit Windsor gives.” Chawla will present his app at the next board meeting, but plans to release it for free with or without Transit Windsor’s support.
