With its developer moving overseas, Seattle (WA) commuters are wondering what will happen to the popular OneBusAway application. Brian Ferris, who created the app as a grad student at the University of Washington, is joining the Google Transit team in Zurich. “OneBusAway is NOT ‘abandoning Seattle,'” Ferris writes in the OneBusAway blog. “I’m doing everything in my power to make sure the lights stay on and while I can’t say exactly what that will look like at this time, know that there are a number of options on the table and I’m confident we’ll find a solution going forward.” And the long-term outlook for arrival-prediction apps like OneBusAway? “My goal is that some day soon, you’ll be getting all your transit info from Google,” he writes.
