Last week a Seattle (WA) real estate company unveiled a electronic transportation and amenities kiosk in the lobby of Amazon.com’s new offices. The touch-screen kiosk offers real-time transit updates along with information about neighborhood amenities. A YouTube video demonstrates the features. According to a press release, the kiosk incorporates data feeds from King County Metro, Sound Transit, the Seattle Streetcar, and the OneBusAway application. The kiosk was developed to comply with the City of Seattle’s requirements for a transportation management plan. “At the bare end of the plan, the City requires racks for paper brochures and schedules,” Sherwin Lee writes in Seattle Transit Blog. “The kiosk, however, takes it up a few notches.” Link to full story in Seattle Transit Blog.
