Paratransit agencies adopt technology

Almost two thirds of the paratransit agencies responding to Metro Magazine‘s annual survey added new technology last year. Most invested in software/AVL or mobile data terminals. Bowling Green’s GO BG Transit (KY), for example, is making the transition to computerized routing software.”It will be able to very swiftly figure the fastest, most efficient route and put the most trips that are feasible on one vehicle,” transportation manager Donna Tooley told Metro. “It will also capture a lot of data for reporting that we presently capture manually.”Link to full story in Metro Magazine.
