As the school year starts up, the Jamaica Urban Transit Company is encouraging area students to use its Smart Card. “It offers security and convenience both for the parents and students,” corporate communications manager Reginald Allen told the Jamaica Information Service. He added that parents can receive a report from JUTC summarizing their child’s smart card transactions. “Essentially, a parent can put a monthly amount on a card to cover transportation and be reassured that the child will not only be going where they should be going but also, you have a means of monitoring that,” he said.
