Spring forward? Glitch leads to ticketing mistake

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (CA) will refund hundreds of parking ticket fines because of a simple mistake. Cameras on Muni buses have been targeting cars parked in transit lanes, but 510 drivers were tagged incorrectly. After filing a public records request, the KGO-TV I-Team determined that the cameras on 17 buses did not correctly adjust for daylight savings time last March. Technicians did not catch the problem until June. “This was a classic mistake, and you got to own up to it and you got to fix it,” said Mayor Gavin Newsom. “For all those folks that got those citations, all I can say is ‘I’m sorry.’” Link to full story in KGO-TV.
