Staff from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (DC) met with local developers on Monday to preview the Transparent Data Sets API, which will allow developers to create applications using Metro bus and rail data. Metro announced three developer challenges at the meeting:
- Improve access to real-time data for riders
- Make the data more useful for riders with disabilities
- Link information about Metro bus and rail with services in surrounding communities
Metrorail data is available now; Metrobus data will be available in the fall. The meeting presentation is available for download here.
