The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (SC) rolled out the first of 11 new environmentally friendly buses last week.The low-sulfur clean diesel vehicles are expected to reduce carbon emissions by 90% over older buses in the fleet. CARTA paid for the buses, which cost $4.8 million, with funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Link to full story in Charleston Regional Business Journal.
