The Federal Transit Administration will invest $293 million in projects to improve community livability and economic development. Six cities will receive funds for urban circulator projects: Dallas (TX), Fort Worth (TX), Chicago (IL), St. Louis (MO), Charlotte (NC) and Cincinnati (OH). Technology-related projects include hybrid buses for TriMet (OR) and Broward County Transportation Department (FL), updates to human services transportation technology for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and an interactive passenger information system for the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (MA). Funds were awarded through two competitive grant programs: the Urban Circulator Grant Program and the Bus and Bus Livability Grant Program. See complete project list.
