Some 8,000 auto-rickshaws, nicknamed tuk-tuks, ply the streets of Bangkok, sending clouds of smoke into the air. Thai Air Marshal Morakot Charnsomruad developed the prototype, which can run for 50 miles on a three-hour battery charge. “It will help clean up our country — everyone will want to drive it,” he told Agence France-Presse. While some electric tuk-tuks are in operation throughout Bangkok, they have not yet been approved for commercial use. Link to full story in France24.
