In an effort to regain its dominance in the online mapping world, MapQuest has updated its features and streamlined its look. “When we started MapQuest, it was built on the simple idea of helping people get directions to their destinations,” senior vice president and general manager Christian Dwyer wrote on the MapQuest blog. “Nearly 15 years later, we remain committed to that core premise of providing accurate maps and directions to millions of people every day.” New features include a one-box search, My Maps, which lets users customize, save, and share information with their social networks, and integration of information from Patch into search results.
