The State of California its encouraging its agencies to develop mobile applications, and has hired an app developer to make the process easier. “We’ve laid out the groundwork for departments to be able to create their own applications,” said Bill Maile, spokesman for the Office of the State Chief Information Officer. “And we expect a number of mobile apps to skyrocket in the future.” More than 40 apps are already available.
