The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority plans to roll out 60-foot articulated hybrid buses on a heavily traveled Boston bus route. But bigger buses need bigger bus stops, and the MBTA is preparing to remove up to 90 on-street parking spaces, much to the dismay of local businesses. According to MBTA general manager Richard Davey, 91% of surveyed bus riders supported the state-of-the-art vehicles, even if it meant losing parking spaces along the five-mile route.
