India’s iconic cycle-rickshaws may have some competition. In anticipation of the Commonwealth Games, Delhi is introducing electric-rickshaws. A cross between a golf cart and a rickshaw, the e-rick uses a battery-powered electric motor. While some say that the steel-and-plastic vehicles (which are recyclable) will take the romance out of traditional rickshaw travel, at least one cycle wallah saw it differently. “It’s too hard pedalling all day,” he told BBC News. “With one of these, I could go further and hopefully make more money.” Link to full story in BBC News.
