Gulf News got a behind-the-scenes look at the high-tech control center for the driverless Dubai Metro (UAE). Officials emphasized that the system works better without what they call human interference. “We chose to have driverless trains, for it is safer to operate them with computers as humans tend to make mistakes,” Ramadan Abdullah, director of operations at the Rail Agency of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, told the Gulf News. “Human interference is needed only to bring the system back to normal when it shuts the train service following any human error or system fault or in case of emergency.” Link to full story in Gulf News.
