To alert pedestrians when a bus is making a turn, GRTC Transit System (VA) is retrofitting its fleet of 168 buses with a system that will activate an audible warning every time the operator uses the turn signal. The technology comes eight months after a GRTC bus struck and killed a pedestrian while making a turn. Link to full story in Richmond Times-Dispatch.
