Metrolink cameras lead to investigations

Southern California commuter railroad Metrolink has barred one train operator and is investigating another for allegedly trying to block the view of surveillance cameras installed in the cabs. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen counters that changes to the sun visors, which were made to accommodate the cameras, have increased glare and made it more difficult for operators to see clearly. The cameras were installed to improve safety by monitoring the actions of train operators. Link to full story in Los Angeles Times.
