Tri Delta Transit, serving East Contra Costa County (CA), is installing a GPS tracking system in its 69 buses. Arrival times will be displayed on LED signs at the system’s most popular bus stops; passengers can receive updates via text message at other locations. Tri Delta received a $1.1 million federal grant to help cover the system costs. Testing will begin soon, and the system is expected to go live within three months.
