A proposal to build an urban vehicle test track outside Pittsburgh (PA) has been dropped. Bombardier Transportation Holdings USA, which had received state funds to build the facility, will instead allow Carnegie Mellon University to lead the project. “The entire project has been redefined,” said Bombardier spokeswoman Maryanne Roberts. “CMU will be able to explore and test the technology of the smart infrastructure required in the transportation guideways in its laboratories.” Link to full story in Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
