Las Vegas rail battle shifts toward conventional trains

The race to connect Las Vegas (NV) with Southern California is heating up again. First came the battle between a magnetic levitation proposal and a conventional high-speed rail option. Now two groups are competing to build a slower passenger rail link between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Known as the X Train and the Z-Train, both proposals would use existing track to make the five-hour-plus trip. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Z-Train officials assert that the X Train team took their idea and are considering legal action. Link to full story in the Las Vegas Sun.
