South Africa to introduce smart cards

Starting this summer, South African taxi-bus riders will be able to buy tickets with smart cards or, possibly, NFC-enabled mobile phones. About 50,000 cards will be deployed during the initial launch, with a target of 10 million cards within three years. Aconite Technology Ltd. and Traderoot Africa (Pty) Ltd. are partnering on the project. Link to full story in ContactlessNews.
