MTA Metro-North Railroad (NY) is working with its new parking operator to replace outdated meters and slot boxes with new electronic meters that will accept credit and debit cards. “Through this innovative approach, we are pleased that our partner, LAZ, is swiftly implementing initiatives to immediately improve the customer experience,” said Metro-North president Howard Permut in a statement. Metro-North is also testing an online payment system for permit holders and plans to pilot a pay-by-cellphone option this summer. Link to MTA press release.
