Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (UAE) plans to launch a new dual-chip smart card that combines the features of the existing Nol card with the functions of a credit/debit card. “The cards could be used for your day-to-day purchases as well as for your daily travels,” said Mohammed Yousuf Al Mudharreb. “This is an additional service the RTA wants to provide to ensure its costumers move fast and travel light.” The RTA is currently soliciting proposals from local banks and expects to award the project at the end of July.
