New York and Philadelphia test real-time information

by Susan on April 19, 2010

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority are testing applications to provide customers with real-time information. The MTA is making real-time information from two routes available to developers for a limited testing period. In addition, the authority used the data to create a Google mash-up called NYCT BusTime. As previously reported in The Transit Wire, SEPTA is testing BusView, an application that shows real-time bus locations. Link to full story in InformationWeek.
