The Ontario government is encouraging the Toronto Transit Commission to adopt the PRESTO Card, which is already in use in other systems across the province. According to CBC, TTC chairman Adam Giambrone has agreed to test the PRESTO Card but does not want the agency to be locked into a single technology. Instead, he wants an open payment system where passengers can pay at the turnstile with a credit or debit card. Link to full story in CBC News.
