by Susan on April 2, 2010

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (GA) is using social media to find a name for its automated people mover. The airport is inviting individuals to suggest names by commenting on the its YouTube channel or Facebook page. “The APM is the backbone of the airport’s overall efficiency and has been since it went into service 30 years ago,” said aviation general manager Ben DeCosta in a press release. “So, to celebrate 30 years of service, we want our customers who rely on it every day to ‘Name the Train!’” The contest runs from April 1 through April 28, 2010. The winner receives a $100 gift card (and people mover fame).
