The Federal Railroad Administration will use a full-sized locomotive simulator to help prevent train accidents caused by human error. The $1.6 million Cab Technology Integration Laboratory, to be housed at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (MA), will allow researchers to better understand the role that human factors play in freight and passenger train accidents.
