A new report from the National Journal Group, Washington in the Information Age, looked at how federal employees are using social media. While agencies are increasingly likely to use Twitter and other services to communicate quickly with their constituencies, their employees remain skeptical. More than half of the workers surveyed — who included federal executives, Congressional staffers, and employees of nonprofits, lobbyists, and other private sector organizations — called Twitter “pointless babble” and almost a third characterized it as a “passing fad.” Link to full story in NextGov.
