Sound Transit to install automatic track lubricators

To address concerns about “unbearable” noise, Sound Transit (WA) plans to install automatic lubricators along the Central Link light-rail line to reduce friction between train wheels and the tracks. The solar-powered lubricators will dispense a biodegradable gel onto the tracks as the trains are running. Link to full story in Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
