Winston-Salem hybrids hit the road

The Winston-Salem Transit Authority (NC) is going green — in more ways than one.  The agency just took delivery on 10 bright green diesel-electric buses, and is expecting 10 more. City officials say that the new buses will nearly double the fuel efficiency of the fleet, saving taxpayer money. “We’re looking at a two-and-a-half-year payback,” said general manager Art Barnes.
