Toronto offers refunds on paper tickets, pilots smart cards

After an announced fare hike led to widespread token hoarding, the Toronto Transit Commission (ON)  is trying to make amends. The agency ran out of tokens last year and had to issue temporary paper tickets as an emergency measure. Now customers can get refunds on unused tickets through the end of March. TTC is also one of the agencies testing Presto, a provincial smart card system. Link to full story in The Toronto Star.
