New fareboxes coming to Pittsburgh

The Port Authority of Allegheny County (PA) is about to roll out new fareboxes on its buses. The new fareboxes, which will eventually accept smart cards as well as cash, are more discriminating than the current ones. “You could stuff a sock in them and it would go through,” said authority spokesman Jim Ritchie.  Link to full story in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
