Desert Xpress moves forward, maglev still on hold

Construction on Desert Xpress, the high-speed train between Las Vegas (NV) and Victorville (CA), is expected to start in 2010, although officials are reluctant to predict a date for the ground-breaking. In the meantime, a magnetic levitation alternative is still on hold. The state expected to receive federal funding last July but, in the words of the Las Vegas Sun, “there’s been a disconnect that has left the maglev waiting at the station.” Link to full story in Las Vegas Sun.
