Web mashups put transparency to the test

Web mashups — which combine data from multiple sources into a single application — are a valuable tool for sharing and analyzing public data. While many agencies are making data available in a common format, such as Extensible Markup Language, consolidating public datasets can still be challenging for developers.  Federal Computer Week highlights three mashup sites that use government data.
