Is Toronto cable-ready?

Urban planner Steven Dale believes that Toronto (ON) should consider cable cars instead of light rail. “Light rail happens to be stuck between a technology we don’t like – buses – and a technology we can’t afford – subways,” said Dale. He argues that cable technology, which can run under vehicles like San Francisco’s cable cars or above vehicles like gondolas, is cheaper, greener, and more flexible than light rail.
