CNN writes about Gov 2.0 and the growing list of  applications that give citizens a greater voice in government.

The aim is to let citizens report problems to their governments more easily and accurately; and to put public information, which otherwise may be buried in file cabinets and Excel files, at the fingertips of taxpayers.

Right now most of the applications can be found in large cities like New York, San Francisco (CA), and Washington (DC). But efforts are underway to develop a national standard for municipal datasets and the applications that use the information.  Link to full story on CNN.com.
