North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue issued a social media policy and online tutorial for state agencies. The policy is available for download at Perdue’s Facebook page or from TheTransitWire. The policy focuses on three areas: (1) appropriate use, (2) security measures, and (3) records management. “Social networking is not the next big thing.” said Perdue. “It’s here now, and state government must stay current if we are to be fully transparent and accountable to the public.” Link to full story in Government Technology.
