CTA expands bus tracking to cell phones

Now Chicago Transit Authority (IL) customers can get real-time bus arrival information via text message. CTA’s Bus Tracker previously required Internet access for service updates. CTA President Richard Rodriguez estimates that thousands of riders will be able to access Bus Tracker with standard cell phones. “Based on surveys conducted by the CTA, approximately 70 percent of bus customers have some type of cell phone,” he said.  Link to full story in Chicago Tribune.
