A request for proposals issued by the Chicago Transit Authority (IL) for an open-fare collection system generated interest from about a dozen banks and credit-card companies. Under the plan, passengers would be able to pay their transit fares with smart credit and debit cards. “We can bundle everything together — your parking, your CTA riding.
