Pittsburgh agency moves toward open data

Following up on the recent launch of City-Go-Round, which lists transit agencies that make their data readily available, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Port Authority of Allegheny County (PA) is the 14th largest agency in the country that doesn’t make its data easily accessible to developers.  “If someone wants Port Authority’s data, all they have to do is call,” said authority spokesman Jim Ritchie. “All it takes is a simple request.” Ritchie further indicated that the agency will be making its data available online within weeks.
