Wi-Fi helps attract intercity bus passengers

Free wireless Internet — and low fares — are helping attract new riders to regional buses. Nationally, air and rail travel is down, while bus travel has increased, according to The Boston Globe:

Bus tickets are more affordable, and many bus companies also offer something that most trains and planes don’t — free wireless Internet access – which is attracting not only business travelers, but a legion of young riders used to having the Web at their fingertips.

In the highly competitive Boston – New York market, bus operators told The Globe that demand was stable or growing. “It’s about creating a new demographic of bus traveler,” said Megabus president Dale Moser. Link to full story in The Boston Globe.
