Los Angeles changes its glow

The City of Los Angeles is replacing its street lights and bus stop lighting with LEDs. The bus stops will use solar-powered lights; because they are not tied into the city’s electric grid, they can provide light during a blackout. When the transition is complete, the city expects to cut energy consumption for public lighting by 40%. Link to full story in CNET News.
