New York’s Metro-North Railroad opened a new ticket machine center in Grand Central Terminal in anticipation of the Thanksgiving travel rush. Michael Grynbaum writes in The New York Times:
Customers who find themselves on the verge of strangling that dawdler at the machine in front of them will now be soothed by a brightly lit, climate-controlled environment, monitored by security cameras as an extra precaution against commuter-on-commuter crime. A wide-screen television displays approaching train departures.
Grand Central Station houses a total of 28 ticket vending machines. Link to full story in New York Times.
