DART will add CNG buses

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (TX) board voted this week to add nearly 600 natural gas buses to its fleet.  The decision, which authorizes staff to solicit bids,  ends a long debate about the whether DART’s next-generation bus fleet should use diesel or CNG.  Savings in fuel costs are expected to offset the $100 million investment needed for the CNG conversion.
