An emergency audit revealed that the surveillance cameras on more than half of San Francisco (CA) Muni’s buses and trains were not fully operational last month. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that 22% of the cameras were completely nonfunctional and 30% were partially functional. About 960 vehicles are equipped with surveillance equipment. The Municipal Transportation Agency has been making repairs since the audit was completed, and now only 20% of vehicles still have problems with their surveillance cameras. The audit was conducted after a boy was stabbed on a Muni bus in September. Link to full story in San Francisco Chronicle.
