Metro partners with university to test emissions

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will team with the West Virginia University Research Corporation to compare the performance of different bus fuels. WVU and Metro will test buses using diesel fuel, hybrid-electric propulsion systems, compressed natural gas, and clean-diesel biofuels. The findings will help Metro select the fuel and propulsion system that provides the cleanest and most cost-effective option for the agency’s Metrobus fleet. Link to WMATA press release.
